Superstar Akshay Kumar confirms his next outing with filmmaker Aanand L Rai, the film is titled Gorkha, the first look poster for the same is out.

Aanand L Rai and Akshay Kumar are already working on Raksha Bandhan and Atrangi Re, now the duo has confirmed their new outing, Gorkha, where Khiladi Kumar will be seen essaying the role of Major General Ian Cardozo.

Akshay Kumar took to his social media and dropped the first look poster. He captioned it, “Sometimes you come across stories so inspiring that you just want to make them. #Gorkha - on the life of legendary war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. Cardozo is a legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian army. He was also the first war-disabled officer of the Indian Army to command a battalion and brigade.

During the Indo-Pak war of 1971, Cardozo had stepped on a landmine in the final days of the war and amputated his own leg when he realized he could not be saved. He was later operated on by a Pakistani army doctor who was taken prisoner of war.

The film will be directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan.
