Physical transformation is one of the most important key for a successful portrayal of any character in film. Versatile Actress Sonakshi Sinha, has done many role ranging from Simple girl next door to sexy siren, but for “Akira” she will be seen her mixed martial arts and ripped avatar.

“Akira” is an upcoming action-drama film directed by AR Murugadoss and produced Fox Star Studios.

 The film is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film Mouna Guru and stars Sonakshi Sinha and Konkona Sen Sharma in lead roles.

The 28-year-old actress underwent months of training in mixed martial arts to enhance strength and flexibility. She also practised choreographed kicking and punching.

"By switching the gender, Murugadoss sir has changed the film's perspective and makes the character even more relatable. Every young girl will be able to take something away from it. For me, Akira was exciting because I was getting to learn something new. The prep required plenty of discipline and hard work but I was happy to go through the grind because it helped me get into shape too," Sonakshi said.

The movie also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Amit Sadh, Shatrughan Sinha and Anurag Kashyap.
