After essaying the role of actress Shraddha Kapoor’s mother in ‘Aashiqui 2’, TV actress Shubhangi Latkar is now set to play the role of, actress Kareena Kapoor’s mother in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming movie ‘Singham Returns’. Similar to her Marathi speaking character in ‘Aashiqui 2’, Shubhangi is once again playing a Maharashtrian woman’s character in her Ajay Devgn starrer movie. Shubhangi, who is currently seen playing the role of Raghu’s mother in her daily soap, ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’, is excited at having bagged Rohit’s movie.

In the original version of Rohit’s movie, mother to female lead actress, Kajal Aggarwal, was also played by a Marathi television actress Suchitra Bandekar. ‘Singham’ had a fair share of Marathi television and movie actors like Sachin Khedekar, Ashok Saraf, Anant Jog, Vijay Patkar and Sonali Kulkarni, in supporting roles.

Shubhangi who sstarted her small screen acting career, playing mother to Shaktimaan, Indian version of superhero. Apart from doing television shows, Shubhangi Latkar has also featured in few Marathi movies like ‘Kuni Ghar Deta Ka Ghar’ and ‘Dum Asel Tar’. Shubhangi’s ‘Singham Returns’ releases in August, 2014.
