Vidya Balan “Respect for Girl Shouldn’t depends on Cloths Length”

Ravi Sharma | February, 05 2016

Actress Vidya Balan, front runner for content driven and women centric films, hammers the point home, says “respect towards girls shouldn’t depend on the length of their cloths” at Youth For Unity panel discussion.

“It’s important that the mindset changes. Girls should wear what they wish to wear. Our respect for girls should not be linked to her dress. A girl can be anywhere and be in any profession, and even for actresses, people’s respect for them should not depend on the length of their clothes” says Vidya.

“And I think it’s as important for girl to be independent as much as boys. I don’t discriminate between the two and that is not something we should be doing. Our world is also moving towards a more equal space” adds Vidya.

Vidya also talks about changing times and peoples more acceptance of “equality” , in fact she goes on record and says that girls are moving forward and equally participating in field, where they were not seen earlier.

“I feel very good when I see a lot of girls at a function, that they are coming forward and participating at events, joining initiatives and taking up education, and working in various professions and industries. In numerous professions where girls weren’t there, we can see them now. I feel very good about it,” she added.

Vidya Balan graced the occasion in a trademark saree by Anavila which she accessorized with a chunky statement neckpiece. The actress participated in a panel discussion and event posed for photo-ops with the students.

Vidya Balan changed the whole “women centric” genre with her massive hits like Kahaani and Dirty Picture, which she followed with another mesmerizing performance in “Hamari Adhuri Kahani”.

Vidya is currently geared up with “Te3N” with Amitabh Bachchan.
