English Vinglish’s beauty diva Sridevi seems to be giving though competition  to Aamir Khan, in Japan.

According to the source, “English Vinglish, which released in across 33 screens in Japan on 28th June this year, continues to mint moolah at the box office with a whopping US $ 1 million and still counting. With this announcement, the film inches closer to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots.”
Apparently the 3 Idiots lifetime boxoffice collection in Japan is JPY170,000,000, approx US $ 1.6 million.

The film’s phenomenal success has surprised Sridevi and her husband Boney Kapoor to make another trip to Tokyo very shortly to meet the screen diva’s fans and also to explore the possibility of shooting her second comeback Hindi film, a step mom- step daughter subject to be produced by Boney Kapoor, in Japan.

The grand premiere of English Vinglish held in Tokyo on May 27th this year was a huge success and was attended by its leading lady Sridevi along with First lady of Japan, Akie Abe and famous Japanese singer, Agnes Chan.

Sridevi says she is over-the-moon by the unexpected success of English Vinglish.
