After giving 2 super hit films Luck By Chance and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Zoya will be ready with her third film in the form of ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ having a tough time, when it came to casting an actress, to play the character of Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra’s mother, in her upcoming movie ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. While all her other star-cast was in place, the mother’s role still remained vacant. Several top Bollywood actresses like Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi were considered by the director to essay the said role.
While the above two mentioned actresses refused to be a part of Zoya’s movie, for one reason or the other, Zoya approached, actress Tabu, her next choice. However, here too, the maker had to face disappointment, as Tabu turned down the movie, stating about being too young to play, Ranveer and Priyanka’s mother. With time fast slipping away, Zoya next approached actress Raveena Tandon.
While Raveena liked the script and her character in the movie, she had reservations about essaying the same, as her role had negative shades to it. Hence, it was polite refusal for Zoya, once again. Finally, the maker could heave a sigh of relief, only after actress Shefali Shah, confirmed and agreed to essay the said role. While Zoya did not face any problems signing big names like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, for her project, it was casting for the mother’s character, which gave, Zoya, sleepless nights.
