
“We are going to Tribunal” says Konkona Sen Sharma about her upcoming movie, Lipstick Under My Burkha, which is denied certification from Censor Board.
“Lipstick Under My Burkha” has been denied certification from Pahlaj Nihalani’s committee, as the film shows sexual scenes, abusive words and audio pornography, hence film is refused certification under these guidelines.
Though the film has been getting a lot of recognition and awards at International film festivals and makers are ready to take a stand.
“I am very grateful to everybody who is supporting Lipstick Under My Burkha, the film is going to tribunal court, so let’s hope they give us certificate and we can move on” said Konkona sen on the sidelines of a store launch event.
Konkona also reacted to ongoing social media tussle between Ram Gopal Varma and Sunny Leone, where filmmaker made “sexiest” comment on the eve of “women’s day”.
“I don’t appreciate anybody making any sexiest remarks” says Konkona Sen.
Actress also expressed that she is not aware of the whole issue, but “sexism” is not appreciated.
“Lipstick Under My Brukha” also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur.
