News Helpline | October, 08 2014

‘Haider’ which released last week is running successfully all over, the film happened to be the year’s most awaited film. The film and its star cast have been getting wonderful response from all over for their performance in it.

However, the film is now surrounded by yet another controversy. Earlier there were reports that there are possibilities of ‘Haider’ being banned in Pakistan due to some controversial elements related to Pakistan. Now, the Kashmiri pundits are seeking a ban for the film for hurting their religious sentiments.

The reason behind Kashmiri Pandits seeking a ban on the film is being said that they felt that the film’s song ‘Bismil’ has showcased ancient Martand Temple of Kashmir as den of a devil and this did not go down very well with the pandits residing in Kashmir. The Kashmiri pandits believe that their religious symbol has been showcased in a very bad light in the film and it has hurt their religious sentiments.

The film basically is a desi adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’. Other than Shahid Kapoor the film has Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Irrfan Khan in major roles. The film is been directed by Vishal Bharadwaj.
