The success of actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest Dum Laga Ke Haisha was something not many expected due to the low-key promotions as well as relatively new actors. His film before this one, Hawaizaada had failed miserably at the box-office. About the turn from extreme failure to extreme success, Ayushmann said, “In a span of one month, it’s a big thing to get back on track and it happens rarely. Hawaizaada flopped but my career has taken a turn with Dum Laga Ke Haisha.”
Ayushmann was present at the launch of his own book, Cracking The Code. The book is his journey from no one to someone and he has shared some of his life experiences.
When Hawaizaada flopped badly, Ayushmann was almost written off as an actor. The collections of the film were so poor that the film couldn’t even manage to run into the second week. And when a film receives a drubbing like that, it becomes extremely crucial for the actor to bounce back with his next film. Sometimes, actors have only one film coming out in a year and if it flops then the tag of being a ‘flop’ actor stays with him throughout the year till the next one comes out.
However, Ayushmann was in a way blessed to have two films releasing so close to each other and the pain of first film flopping was wiped out with the success of the next film. Perhaps this is also the reason why Ayushmann released his book right after the success of the film as fortunes change every Friday like his did.
