Theatre actor Darshan Kumar has played the role of a baddie in the film, ‘NH 10’ in which honour killings have played a part. He is shown as someone who practices honour killings and does whatever possible to preserve the honour of the family even if it means killing his own sister.
Surprisingly, ‘NH 10’ was the first film for which Darshan shot for and completed but due to some reasons, ‘Mary Kom’ with Priyanka Chopra turned out to his first release. His performance as Priyanka’s lover-husband was well-received and appreciated by both critics and audiences.
His performance in this film is also being praised. When asked if he expected such a response he said, ‘I’m not surprised because I knew the script so well so nothing was new for me. I am happy that I got to do two distinct and realistic roles in my first 2 films. The environment on the sets used to be energetic and such co-stars like Anushka and Neil made acting really easy.’
He also praised Navdeep Singh for his direction skills. He said, ‘Navdeep sir gave me the full freedom to act out scenes in a particular manner. There were no set instructions as to what to do and what not to do. The workshops conducted prior to the start of the film also helped us during the making of the film.’
