
Katrina Kaif was recently honoured by the prestigious Smita Patil Awards which were held in Mumbai on September 19. She has been chosen for her outstanding contribution and excellent work in Indian films.
After collecting the award,she said, “The world of cinema, NOT only Indian cinema is often called as a man’s world. I am proud to see we have an award that recognizes the contribution of women in cinema.
This award is in memory of one of the most greatest and accomplished actress.” This award is given in memory of late Mrs. Smita Patil who was not only an outstanding actress but also the pride of Indian Cinema. The awards are organized by the NGO, Priyadarshani Academy. This NGO is engaged in socio-cultural activities and have been holding these awards since 1984.
She dedicated her award to all the ladies who work hard to excel in their respective fields. She concluded the speech by saying, “It is said that women hold the path to sky, but I think it is women like Smitaji who show us not even the sky is the limit.”
