Harshavardhan Kapoor and Filmfare’s twitter war getting ugly

Sanjukta Sen | January, 20 2017

Harshavardhan Kapoor who made his debut in Bollywood with Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra’s Mirzya expressed his disappointment of not getting the Filmfare Best Debut award.
As he lost out to Diljit Dosanjh who received for ‘Udta Punjab’, the Kapoor lad seems to have not taken this too well.
Expressing his view that he deserved the award as Diljit has already worked in Punjabi movies and hence can’t be counted as a debutante, he said, ““I won every award except Filmfare. You don’t know what kind of goes into it. Some awards have a jury and they decide. Some have a popular vote. So I don’t know how they decided this year. I think debutant awards should be for people who are relatively new to films. I have done less work. Otherwise, it is like saying I have done 100 English films and now I am doing a Hindi film so I am a debutant. So if Leonardo Di Caprio wins an Oscar and then comes to do a Bollywood movie, he is a debutant which is not something I agree with.”
After this strong statement, the Filmfare’s senior editor Anuradha Choudhary tweeted, “The sense of self-entitlement some of these newcomer actors have is beyond imagination. If only they were half as talented.”
To which the actor posted series of tweets,
“Just take my name And go through people's filmographys while your at it..”
“It's amazing , you can't share your thoughts at all , then you become the antagonist you guys run a business on things actors say”
“It's not entitlement it's an opinion just like how your magazine always has one…
Don't feel entitled to any award,I'm questioning the principle of who is a newcomer, have zero problems losing to a genuine newcomer”
He commented on his fellow debutante Jim Sarbh’s performance in his sister Sonam Kapoor's film Neerja, and wrote that he "would've been happy to lose to him."
“@jimSarbh was amazing in #neerja and is a newcomer would've been happy to lose to him”
Well, this argument is really uncalled for!!!
