Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards is a huge honour for me – Aamir Khan

“It is such a huge honour for me and Nitesh Tiwari” says Aamir Khan during his acceptance speech last night on receiving the 75th Dinanath Mangeshkar Award.

Actor Aamir Khan received the 75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards, at a ceremony on April 24. Aamir Khan is honoured with the Vishesh Puraskar for his film Dangal.

“It is such a huge honour for me and Nitesh Tiwari. I would like thank didi (Lata Mangeshkar) from the bottom of my heart. I would also like to thank Deenanath committee, Mangeshkar family and entire nation for this honour and respect that my film and I am receiving here” said Aamir Khan.

Aamir Khan’s Dangal has been one of the biggest hits in 2016. Zaira Wasim, who played Geeta Phogat in the film was honoured with the Best Supporting Actress Award at the National Film Award this year.

Aamir Khan praised Nitesh Tiwari for writing and directing an incredible movie Dangal, which without him wasn’t possible.

“A film starts with a writer. The love, respect and honour Dangal is getting nation-wide is all because of Nitesh Tiwari, as he wrote such an incredible story and made a film out of it” added Aamir.

Aamir Khan also credited all the script writer and screen play writer, who helped him shape his career.

“Today, whatever I am and wherever I am standing, the entire credit goes to all the writers, whose films I’ve worked in. The credit goes to all the directors and writers, because of them, I am here today” added Aamir.

Next Aamir Khan will be seen sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan for historic drama “Thugs of Hindostan”.
