Filmmaker Advait Chandan helmed Secret Superstar Clashed with Rohit Shetty directorial Golmaal Again and the debutant director says it is a huge deal for him.
“It is my first film, so I was excited that my first movie is releasing. And on top of that, it is releasing in-front of Rohit Shetty’s film, a man who has given many hits with great success rate, so for me, it is a very big deal that my film released with Rohit Shetty’s film and it is doing well. We have recovered our cost on the weekend itself. I am really happy about it” said Debutant Filmmaker Advait during her recent media interaction.
'Secret Superstar' is an awe-inspiring tale of a girl, who against all odds reaches for her dream and fulfills it. The movie stars Zaira Wasim, Aamir Khan and Meher Vij in the lead roles.
The gallant and debut effort from Advait found appreciation with not only the audience but entire filmmaker’s fraternity, which includes names like Rajkumar Hirai, Karan Johar, and Kabir Khan.
“This is all very exciting. It all looks surreal to me. Getting such huge numbers on the weekend and the fact that it was already declared a hit on the weekend is a big deal. I was shocked when I got a call from Rajkumar Hirani at 2 am in the morning. He called me after watching the film, he loved the film so much that we were discussing in detail about some scenes from the film that he really liked.”
He further added, “For me, it was a big deal that a director that I have tried to copy and become like is now appreciating my work. The fact that people like Mr. Hirani, Mansoor Khan, Karan Johar and Kabir Khan have said such nice things, is very overwhelming.”
Advait while talking about film said, “The exciting part is that we have given people an experience where they could laugh, cry and connect.”
The film has been helmed by debut director Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios, and Akash Chawla.
