
On Friday, eminent actor Anil Kapoor attended IIFA’s Voting Event 2017 in Mumbai. During the event, Anil Kapoor asserted that he doesn’t interfere in his kid’s small issues. Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor engaged in a Twitter battle on Wednesday when the latter reacted to Abhay’s Facebook post on Bollywood actors endorsing fairness products. Sonam pointed out that while Abhay named and slammed most actors who’d posed for such products in the past, he didn’t mention his own sister Esha Deol, who too was part of such a product’s campaign. Abhay and Sonam have worked together in Aisha and Raanjhanaa opposite each other.
He said, “It’s a really small issue. I don’t interfere in my kid’s opinions and decisions and it would remain in that way only. She is the right person to talk about the whole issue. If any health or critical issue arises then only I can speak for them so I will not commenting on this and these things she can handle very well”.
Sonam Kapoor has declared special mention in 64th National Award for her outstanding performance in Neerja, when asked about his reaction as a father, he said, “At such a young age and short span of her career as she has done very few film, she has got the recognition from highest award in our country. The film Neerja is loved by everyone. Every department of Neerja was excellent and as she played the role of Neerja, I am very proud and happy that she has won national award and the film also got best film award so it’s a double treat. Now I am looking forward for 3rd May when she will receive the award from President of India”.
Talking about his association with IIFA, he said, “First time IIFA is organizing award in New York, New York is the city everyone including our youth looked up to so when we are hosting IIFA this year in New York then it will be far more special. IIFA is like family to me I have associated with IIFA for so many years. Each year IIFA set new benchmark for them and this year also IIFA will be bigger and better. IIFA is known for celebrating Indian cinema on various international destinations with spectacular scale and people, stars involved in it. This year, there will be great mix of senior and junior film actors are going to entertain people at IIFA”.
On asking about, actors social responsibility towards society, he said, “It is our great responsibility as people look up to us and we set examples to them so it always an absolute honor to be associated with state or nation’s social welfare initiatives”.
Anil Kapoor was last seen in the Movie “Welcome Back” which was sequel to the 2007 film ‘Welcome’ and now he will be next Anees Bazmi’s Mubarakan in which he is first time playing a Sikh character along with his nephew arjun Kapoor. It also stars Athiya Shetty and Ileana D’Cruz in lead roles.
It will be released in 28 July, 2017.
