
Gulshan Grover was an upcoming actor when he saw his career’s breakthrough performance as Kesariya Vilayati in ace director Subhas Ghai’s Ram Lakhan said the director has complete cinema in his soul and body.
As Gulshan praised the director, “I have worked in many films with SubhashJi. I have seen other co-actors and even many senior great actors to work with this living live institute, sitting there in the set and creating magic in situations. During the shooting of Saudagar, senior and legendary actor like Dilip Kumar used to take Subhas ji’s approval after completing a scene. He is himself a complete cinema in his body and soul.” said the actor.
Gulshan Grover was present at the press conference of event to celebrate the Whistling Woods International 2nd Alumni Day.
Subhash Ghai, showman of Bollywood has a tradition of creating memorable characters on screen, from Anupan Kher's role in Karma, or Ajit's in Kali Charan to one of the most popular negative character 'Bad Man' in Bollywood Industry when, Gulshan Grover's fortunes were on the rise.
“I feel very contented, in our time Madhri (Dixit), Manisha (Koirala), Jackie (Shroff) and me whatever we have learnt from Subhasji, today’s younger generation is learning from Whistling Woods.” Gover added.
Recalling about his batch mate actor Anil Kapoor, "I remember, Anil Kapoor asking Subhash Ghai after watching Karma that he finally understood what the film was about, now if they could make it again" Gulshan chuckles at the memory.
Ghai’s last directorial work Kaanchi was a comeback film after a hiatus of four years which starred newcomer actress Mishti and Kartik Tiwari in lead roles supported by veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty.
