Sardar Udham Singh is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical film directed by Shoojit Sircar, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar and written by Ritesh Shah and Shubhendu Bhattacharya under the banner of Rising Sun Films, and Kino Works. The film features Vicky Kaushal in the lead role of Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for his assassination in London of Michael O'Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab in India, on March 13, 1940, in revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919, for then which Udham was subsequently tried and convicted of murder, and was hanged on July 31, 1940.
