Saand Ki Aankh stars two of Bollywood's rising stars; Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar. The actresses are known to take on unconventional films. Saand Ki Aankh, if anything, stays true to the actresses' profile. The film showcases Bhumi and Taapsee as famous Shooter Daadis, Chandro and Prakashi Tomar from Johri Village of UP. Set in the backdrop of the late 90s, Saand Ki Aankh shoes that the women are in their sixties, living in an extremely patriarchal household, with no say in the matters of the house. They are ordered around, work for their men, and are seen only as a reproduction devices. I use the term devices because that is exactly what they are shown as. They are looked down upon, insulted and humiliated by the men of house.
 
Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar have done wonderful performances in the movie. These actresses carry the film on their shoulders very effortlessly. Bhumi padnekar’s dialogue delivery is on point and deeply engaging. At the same time, Taapsee Pannu knows the art of impressing the audience in all exact manners. Their chemistry appears fully believable, perfect and glowing on screen. The only thing that didn’t seem to work for the actresses was their makeup which looked patchy, exaggerated and unreal in some scenes. However, their performance covered it up.
 
Well, even thought the script seemed over stretched, this film deserves to be watched for the fantastic performances of the two leading ladies, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in portraying their characters and the excellent direction by Tushar Hiranandani in bringing life to the screenplay. The first half might seems slow, however the second half will takes the audience on an emotional and inspiring ride and leave you spellbound in the end.
