Verdict : Rambo : Last Blood keeps Sylvester Stallone's iconic character alive
Rambo: Last Blood takes on its old age story and brings it in 2019 without the culture appropriation.
A PTSD war surviver Sylvester Stallone is living his normal life and has kept his secrets hidden for a long time. But since his past soon starts to catch up when his niece is kidnapped by Mexicans and transported in a sex trafficking scheme.
Soon Sylvester starts asking questions knocking doors asking the cartel to send his niece back safe and sound. On refusal a bloody and bruised Stallone starts talking one man at a time to reach his niece.
The film is filled with violence the franchise and genre is best known for. It had given into the stereotypical criterias of mexicans and the bad guys and the white guy and the bruting hero. While there is no doubt Rambo Last Blood is a fun watch for all the franchise fans they also get to see Stallone at his best. There isn't a dramatic story to his character but his heavy and sad eyes do most of the talking making the film a better experience.
Stallone himself has co written the screenplay and has kept it consistent with the earlier films. Overall it is a violent film with guns blazing and fits in the air.
