Verdict : Outsider's viewpoint into the lives of the sister Queens

Based on a biography called Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart, the film stars Saoirse Ronan as the Mary Stuart and Margot Robbie as Elizabeth I, Queen of England. The film mainly focuses on the two women, their relationship with each other and their struggle for power in the world run by men.

Even though Queen we see them both struggling for air at numerous occasion making you wonder if the men had any respect of regard for their own Queen.

The screenplay of the film does not stand out but fits right in with the British and Scottish speakers. Not to mention the beautiful cast. Every single one of them looked so perfect. Maybe a little too much, except for Margot when she had the pox. And even then she looked good.

The film's cinematography as though highly inspired by Game of Thrones uses the dark tones from Winterfell for Scotland and their noblemen. It also has a high influence on the script with failed marriages, forced presidencies, and the interactions the queens and her suitors and servants.

The movie strays for a long while from the agenda but never misses the point. Even after it runs through the screen time in the dark castles and rusty colors you still wish to keep watching more.

Mary and Elizabeth are manipulated by the noblemen into hating each other, gunning for their lands and praying for war while the two just wish peace and happiness for each other. Over the years when they fail to move either of them and when Mary has been betrayed by her own we finally see them meet each other for the first time.

It in this scene where you realize the two sisters who took different paths for the same power end up so alone and all they have is each other. While one still wins after losing, the other loses in winning.

I did enjoy the film and its Saoirse Ronan strong portal of the Mary Stuart even though we didn't find a lot of details about her or their dealing with England we didn't find out she was a brave women and lived for what she believed in.
