In the late 18th century Bundelkhand, post the Buxar war, a sagacious and disturbed bounty hunter (Saif Ali Khan), aided by his sidekick, goes on a killing spree and travels in a quest to find and kill his arch nemesis. Rahmat Khan was Subedar of Rohilkhand from 1749 to 1774. He was Pashtun by background.

During third battle of panipat, Rahmat Khan paired with Najibullah and fought against Marathas led by Sadashivrao Bhau. Rahmat Khan looted the gold coins from Maratha treasury during this war. In 1764, jat ruler Suraj Mal defeated Mughal army at Agra and took away two silver doors of Taj Mahal. Rahmat Khan, the then Mughal commander swore to avenge and executed Suraj Mal. Rahmat Khan was on winning side of third battle of panipat 1761 but was defeated and killed in Rohilla war in 1774.
