Movie Review

Rating :

Verdict : It’s a clean family entertainer, with no double meanings or bad words. So Baasi Eid can be enjoyed with Kapil and your entire family _____________________________________________________

Comedy as we know is one of the toughest genre to attempt. Many big actors and directors have failed in past or even if some have succeeded it might have been purely due to star power. This time the director duo Abbas Mastan has tried their hand at a full on comedy Kis Kis Ko Pyaar karoon and that too with one of the biggest name of comedy genre, Kapil Sharma. But will this duo whose good sense of humour is been noticed in films like Baadshah, be able to make people laugh or audience will prefer them as good thriller director is a big question. Lets find out.

Story –

Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan aka Bholu (Kapil Sharma) is a dude who drives a fancy car, works in a fancy building and regularly wears a three-piece suit in Mumbai so that everyone knows he's rich. Over the course of what appears to be one year, Bholu acquires three wives.  Due to some unfortunate and often illogical turn of events, our hero finds himself in situations that forces him to marry. And to help him hide his other marriages from his wives, he takes help of his lawyer friend Karan (Varun Sharma). And just when you thought that our hero has enough problems on his plate to deal with, he also has a girlfriend Deepika (Elli Avram) whom he truly loves and wants to marry.  It's actually all his mother's fault. She told him he should never break a woman's heart or home, and in his attempt to live by that maxim, Bholu finds himself saddled with three wives and a girlfriend. As if this is not enough a deaf don cum brother in law, estranged parents, a typical dim witted bai and an ever doubting future father in law also add to the comical confusions.

Positive Points :-

The best part or the USP of the film is it does not bore you. It keeps you entertained till the end. Even though the basic plot is quiet similar to Govinda’s Sajan Chale Sasural or Salman’s Biwi no. 1,  the situational comedy and bunch of co actors keep you busy and laughing and do not let you think about the loop holes in this illogical or sometimes juvenile script and treatment.

Among actors Arbaaz Khan steals the show as a deaf don and Kapil’s brother in law. Even Varun’s illogical, scientific gyaan to save his friend in difficult situation brings smile on your face.

Negative Points :-

The film’s plot is very illogical and been forcefully designed to put the comedy situations. # marriages in an unavoidable situations within a year is too hard to digest.

Kapil Sharma is a good performer but as an actor has not done well. Even the females are not good actors and look flat. Some logic to the entire plot with out and out comedy could have added more value to the film.

Technical Points :-

Music is ok with some good groovy numbers and Eli’s dance moves are delight to watch. Photography and editing are not bad as Abbas Mastan are one of the finest directors. Script is illogical but that is what its meant to be. When you want comedy leave the brain at home.

End Note :-

The film is a good time pass during a long weekend. Baasi Eid can be enjoyed with Kapil and your entire family, because though it shows polygamy the film is not at all vulgar or offending. It’s a clean family entertainer, with no double meanings or bad words. Situation comedy or you can also call illogical comedy will keep you entertained throughout.
