Verdict : Go for the view, leave with a story.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is like the starting point of a whole new series. Like the first episode which promises you all big things and ends giving you more of a character driven story without the melodrama. The film is a visual treat as much as any other big films releasing out there. But Fallen Kingdom trumps when it comes to the story and its reasoning.
The film takes all it has in the first act, cleans up in the second and presents a completely different story in the third act. Even though there are a few instances where the film slows down, it eventually picks up with more dino fights and adorable animals.
Without giving away any spoiler, the film is not what you think it is about. Chris and Howard have broken up but they do not spend their time fighting about the relationship but actually fight their own ideals and mistakes. The film also sheds light on how the heroes are not always the right and good guys. The chemistry between all four Chris, Howard, Justice Smith (techy) and Daniella Pineda (medical expert) creates a great team even when Daniella picks up a gun in an attempt to save her and leave Chris for dead.
Watching Chris Pratt has forever been a pleasure when he is serious, fighting, trying to save himself from Lava with a paralyzed body, all of it. Fallen Kingdom hits the right notes with the audience when it cashes on the fact that an entire species is going extinct right before their eyes, and at the same time make the movie work without it being about saving the world.
The film has set the start for an entire new franchise which might go one for another 25 years. It develops character in all these people we have watched in the past film including Blue, Velociraptor. He is built for more than just being Owen's pet and he knows it.
Three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that's about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinos while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.
