Hero a new bollywood action movie is full of romance and animations, the movie is directed by Nikhil Advani and and the script of the movie is re-written by Umesh Bist, it is a remake of Subhash Ghai’s movie which was directed in 1983. The movie is produced by Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai and Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty are in lead roles. Will these star kids prove their prowess in this cult classic film Hero ? Lets find out
Story:-
Sooraj (Sooraj Pancholi), who appears to be a strong goon, is actually kind-hearted and often helps the needy. Being stuck between a fight between Pasha (Aditya Pancholi) and Inspector General Mathur (Tigmanshu Dhulia), Sooraj is asked to kidnap IG Mathur’s daughter, Radha (Athiya Shetty). Unknown of Pasha’s bad intentions, Sooraj kidnaps Radha.
But in the course, Sooraj and Radha fall for each other. How will they face their families and will they be able to express their love for each other forms the rest of the story.
Positive points:-
Athiya is the surprise package in the film. With her unconventional looks, she makes up for a superb heroine material and will go a very long way in her career. Songs of the film are quite good especially the Salman Khan one which comes during the credits.
Sooraj also does a decent job and has a fabulous body and will slowly pick up in the future. The pair could be capable for more, but they were unlucky to have gotten this start. The two have a smoking chemistry.
Negative Points:-
Wherever there are newcomers involved in a movie especially the ones that are descendants of the industry, our hopes are kind of raised from the film knowing that fact that they must know not much but a little about acting. And when a superstar like Salman Khan is backing them up, then all we can expect is a marvel. However, Hero shatters all our hopes and dreams.
The movie is a cliched 90’s melodrama and to my surprise, Nikhil did not work hard to change the script and kept it similar to the bygone Hero. When a movie is purely sold on Salman’s chiselled body, it is ok but not everyone can match that aura. I absolutely appreciate, Sooraj’s attempt and hard work to make a body so drool worthy, however he needed to equally work hard on his acting.
He is decent, but not good. However he sure has the potential to improve with time. Athiya’s pout was all over the place and it kind of distracted me a lot.
Technical Points:-
Except for his name in the posters and movie, Nikhil Advani’s talent does not show anywhere throughout the 131 minutes of torture. He played safe by not changing the script, but it worked against him. The characters are badly written and so is the story. The dialogues are way melodramatic and the plot is extremely 90’s.
The fights are unreal and boring. The cinematographer does not have much to showcase and the music album is very dull. None of the songs appear to be in tune. In short, Hero is a zero in technicality.
End Note:-
On a whole, Hero is a very cliched and outdated remake of the original. Watch the film only if you are longing for some eye candy in the form of the lead pair. They are the only saving grace in this boring and routine romantic entertainer.
