Movie Review
Rating :
Verdict : Why Cheat India tries to expose the flaws in education with flaws of its own.
Why Cheat India starring Emraan Hashmi, and Shreya talks about the flaws in Indian Education System and society's obsession with grades and marks over the learning experience.
Taking advantage of the situation is the lead, Rakesh Singh who runs a coaching center as a front for a scam system. He ropes in state toppers like Sattu to write papers for many undeserving candidates to get them degrees in turn for cash transactions. The film gives a blurry glimpse into the truth about coaching classes, college, professors and even politicians and policemen are involved in the scam.
The film's screenplay pays too much attention trying to make Emraan the hero of the film and neglects the story's agenda. The entire supporting cast is underplayed while the subplots lead nowhere in the story. The film rewards all bad behavior and justifies it as this is how the world works.
While the film does have some comedic moments they don't come until the end where it is just sarcasm getting the audience to laugh. Overall the film pushes one point down your throat while showing you a different story.
Why Cheat India has a pure intention but a bad team.
