Movie Review

Rating :

Verdict : The film Doesn't have much to deliver, apart from Akshay Kumar's Cameo, song and little bit of Comic and if you got more options to entertain yourself then this film is miss a worth.. ___________________________________________________________-

When you try to expect the best and you get the worst which is unexpected, then things gets more disappointed than you think and something like this has happened with ‘The Shaukeens’.

We all understand that if this debacle would helmed by new amateurs then was acceptable, but when you see the veteran actors like Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor and Piyush Mishra who have manage to give great fear to other young actors and superstar through their shear talent have shown some disappointment with this film especially when it is supported by the Stardom of Akshay Kumar and scripting by Tigmanshu Dhulia, then you tend to feel that bollywood talents are loseing their charm.

The film is about three lecherous old men, Lali (Kher), KD (Kapoor) and Pinky (Mishra) head to Mauritius for some old adult fun. They met Ahana Bhasin (Lisa Haydon), who is also an aspiring designer. Having met the marijuana-smoking wild child, our lusty uncles are just waiting for a chance to score. There are bound to be misadventures and you expect them to be fun. However, what follows is an inane chain of events.Akshay Kumar makes an entry as the alcoholic superstar.

Talking about performance, out of 3 lusty uncles, Anu Kapoor won the piece of cake but still delivers an ordinary performance, while Anupam Kher is doing something which not much unfamiliar from his previous role he has done, while Piyush Mishra tries what is best for him.

Akshay Kumar entry does manage to sparks some magic for a while, due to his style, comic and alcoholic mimic, but his extended appearance is probably not helping to grip the viewer’s seats.

Lisa Haydon is not getting her best, what she got in ‘Queen’. She has partly failed even after getting a good platform with 3 ace actors and 1 superstar. But, the beauty and sultry looks which is not worth a miss when you find her in ‘Manali Trance’

Coming to the music, the film gives you good peppy song with ‘Alcoholic’ and ‘Aashiq Mijaz’ with romantic number ‘Mehrbani’ which marks a good chemistry of Akshay and Lisa.

The Film is directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Ashvin Varde, Murad Khetani, Akshay Kumar
and Trilogic Digital Media Ltd. Its an Official Remake of  1982 film Shaukeen directed by Basu Chatterjee, starring Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt, A. K. Hangal,Rati Agnihotri and Mithun Chakraborty.

So overall, if you don’t have good option around to explore, or probably bored with serious and drama content, and this film might help you for some slight entertainment and music or else its worth a miss.
