Movie Review

Rating :

Verdict : Sunny Deol brings back a love story that is fresh and free of any agenda.

The film directed by Sunny Deol, starring debutants Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba is a fresh take on the 90's romantic drama. Pal Pal Dil Ke follows Karan Sehgal (Karan Deol) is a mountaineer who runs a trekking camp, Ujhi Dhaar, in Himachal and a Delhi based blogger Sahher Sethi who takes on a solo trek trip with him. The trailer of the film keeps close to its premise and delivers a promised romantic drama. While the film is on its own it does have a resemblance to the Sunny's old stardom.

The first half takes us through breathtaking and picturesque views of Manali with snow-capped mountains and more as the two start their love-hate relationship and grow closer. The second half takes the story forward as they chase each other through adverse situations and fight for each other. Karan Deol the new face has the maximum screen time in the followed by Sahher, as debutants the two keep it fresh with their raw acting and manage to not make it look forced. The second half also has more family drama which also sees more supporting cast on-screen including, Meghna Malik, Kamini Khanna, Sachin Khedekar and Simmone Singh.

There are instances in the film where Karan Deol takes on his father's persona from the 90 and becomes the action hero in the second half as the film takes a turn into a political genre. In the end, Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass comes back to its romantic genre to give a satisfactory ending. Writers Jasvinder Singh Bath and Ravi Shankaran present the story with realistic and sober dialogues, there aren't any punch lines still Karan and Sahher emote their emotions well on screen.

Overall Sunny Deol brings back a love story that is fresh and free of any agenda.
