Synopsis
Ishaan is a charismatic, good-looking music producer from Mumbai. He lives a sheltered existence, is the centre of his life, the apple of his mothers (Zarina Wahib) eye, always protected by his elder sister Shivani (Mini Mathur) and stays at his girlfriend Anushkas (Chitrangda Singhs) house. He takes them all for granted!
But there comes a day when his life falls apart like a house of cards. Fed up of his flirtatious nature and being taken for granted, his girlfriend throws him out of her house. He moves into a dilapidated house, his mother leaves his father and moves in with him, his sister and his best friend are upset with him and his new boss Beena (Raima Sen) asks him to resign. His ego is severely damaged and his confidence shaken.
At this point, his new neighbour Gauri (Prachi Desai) comes into his life and from her he learns the importance of relationships. He starts taking initiatives towards mending and maintaining his past relationships.
Ishaan begins to truly fall in love with Gauri. There comes a point when he has to make a choice between his love that made him a better person or being a better person by taking responsibility of the actions he has done in the past.
Movie Review
Rating :
Verdict : Even diehard fans of John might not enjoy this cliché film.
After giving hits like Housefull 2 and Race 2 John is back with a solo this time. I me aur Main is a film where John does not have any supporting hero to share the screen. On top of that its no an action film like Force where John can show his six packs and please the audience. So now you can understand what could be the fate of I Me Aur Main.
Story - Ishaan (John Abraham )a charismatic, good-looking music producer from Mumbai, lives a sheltered existence as the Aankh Ka Taara of his mothers (Zarina Wahab) eye, always protected by his elder sister Shivani (Mini Mathur). He stays at his girlfriend Anushkas (Chitrangda Singhs) house and takes them all for granted. His new neighbour Gauri (Prachi Desai) comes into his life and begins to fall in love with Gauri.
Technical Aspect – All technical aspect like cinematography, Editing, Music and above all Direction all are just OK. Debutant director Kapil Sharma succeeds to a certain extent in the first half, but he loses his way in the second half of the film. Perhaps, tighter editing would have helped.
Negative - The film fails primarily because of it’s over bearing and over ambitious script. Trying its hands at too many themes, the film appears shady and inconsistent. The story lacks depth and is maintained mostly at a superficial level. The story moves aimlessly without making a point at all.
Positive – Prachi Desai comes a s a great savior of the film. She excels and looks fresh with honest performance. Zarina Wahab and Mini Mathur are good. Chitrangda is good but predictable. Few scenes between John and Chitangda are done well. But the best part of the film is its length. Thank God! It’s a 2 hr movie and not lengthier than that.
On the whole I, Me aur Main is a cliche film and John should not try to do a solo film if its any other genre than action.
