Verdict : Scary, gory yet entertaining and humorous, don't miss it!

Given the disaster that the first Bollywood zombie flick ‘Rise Of The Zombies’ was at the box-office, credit must be given to the director duo, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, and producer Saif Ali Khan to have come up with the this zombie comedy ‘Go Goa Gone’.

The trailors and music of the film have already been making waves and the movie finally hits the screens today. So let’s sit back and see what this unique concoction has in store for the viewers.

Story:-

Hardik (Kunal Khemu) and Luv (Vir Das) are good friends and roommates who are tired of their mundane lives and try seeking some excitement outside this routine. While Hardik faces problems in his professional life, Luv remains loveless despite his innumerable attempts. In this situation, they literally force friend Bunny (Anand Tiwari) to take them along to Goa for a business meeting.

Things go as per plan in Goa until they get invited by Luna (Puja Gupta) for an underground rave party to be held on a private island. The rave party is organized by a Boris (Saif) who claims to be a Russian Mafia man (desi conman). Pretty soon, their fun, drinks and drugs fuelled vacation turns out to be a nightmare when people on the island start turning into zombies.

Will the three boys accompanied by their glamour girl Luna and Boris manage to escape from this jinxed island? The answer to this what the rest of ‘Go Goa Gone’ is all about.

Positive Points:-

Go Goa Gone is nothing short of a laugh riot and the credit for this goes to the directors, Raj and DK, along with the main leads who are Kunal, Vir, Anand, Puja and Saif. The film is extremely entertaining and keeps you laughing throughout. Coming to performances, the movie belongs to the boys. Kunal Khemu is amazingly witty and steals the show with his back to back repartees and onscreen charisma. Vir and Anand add their support to the entertainment quotient and deliver a slapstick comic performance. Puja adds to the glamour quotient and is film’s eye-candy and gives out a strong performance with ease.

The audiences go into raptures each time Saif Ali Khan appears on screen. From his fake Russian accent right down to his Mafioso look, there is nothing that does not appeal! He is extremely trippy in all the scenes. Also, the zombies alternatively disgust and scare the audiences in their various creepy avatars.

Negative Points:-

There are a few areas in which Go Goa Gone falters. The sequence showing the evolution of the zombies and the end of the film is a bit disappointing. Another exhausting thing in the film is the rapidity of the zombies and repetition of a few scenes. A few sequences seem to have been heavily inspired from some Hollywood zombie flicks and movie becomes a little tedious at some points with the scenes not making sense at all.

Technical Aspects:-

The music of the movie given by Sachin and Jigar is top-notch especially the tracks ‘Slowly Slowly’, ‘Khooni Monday’ and ‘Babaji ki Booti’ which have become chart-busters. The songs are placed appropriately within the screenplay and light up the viewers’ mood.

The cinematography by Lukasz Pruchnik and Dan McArthur is amazing as the camera covers the horrific effects beautifully. The screenplay of the film is superlative. Special mention goes to Kunal Khemu who has penned down the Hindi dialogues and these lines are extremely humorous and keep the viewers amused. Directors Raj and DK are the ones to watch out for given their blossoming talent.
