Verdict : Average

Film – Sab Kushal Mangal

Director - Karan Vishwanath Kashyap

Cast - Akshaye Khanna, Priyank Sharma, Riva Kishan, Satish Kaushik, Supriya Pathak, Rakesh Bedi, Shriya Saran, Yuvika Chaudhary.

Debutante Priyank Sharma and Riva Kishan has teamed up veteran Akshaye Khanna in his heart-land romantic comedy which is loaded with some silly puns and amazing story but fails to deliver.

Priyank as Papu Mishra, host of a TV news show, identifies Baba Bhandari (Akshaye Khanna) as a goon committing crimes by forcing couples to marry without consent (Jabariya Shaadi). Baba is fuming for revenge and gets a perfect opportunity for rebuttal when Papu comes home for Diwali.

On the other hand, Newbie Mandira’s (Riva Kishan) is simple yet affirmative girl, approaches Baba for help as her family is trying to find an appropriate groom at a mutually acceptable price. Baba looking for an opportunity to settle score with Papu, kidnaps him and set up the marriage.

But the plot thickens when Baba finds himself falling for Mandira, but understands that he lacks the charisma of urban guy to approach her for marriage. So he enlists the help of Papu to help him, but Papu has different plans. The plot is amazing and it would have made for a stellar comic caper but unfortunately it fails badly!

Written and directed by Karan Vishwanath Kashyap, co-written by Brijendra Kala, could have been an amazing watch but it fails to deliver at many levels. The film fails to hits the right notes with the love story.

The narrative is rather facile and unbelievable. Priyaank and Riva are talented enough to rise above the limitations of their poorly scripted, conceived and structured roles, they don’t work up a convincing chemistry and neither is their effort enough to make this experience engrossing.

Veterans such as Satish Kaushik, Supriya Pathak and Rakesh Bedi do well to install respect with their presence but the film doesn’t hold up.
