Amruta Khanvilkar, known for her versatility and captivating performances, is set to portray a compelling character named Lalita in 36 Days, says her character is Rakhi Sawant meets Gucci.
Helmed by Vishal Furia, the series follows a mysterious woman who moves into a seemingly idyllic neighbourhood. Her provocative attire and inquisitive nature unsettle the residents, and just when things seem to be settling, an elderly woman goes missing.
Talking about her role, Amruta Khanvilkar said, “I am playing the role of Lalita, she is Rakhi Sawant meeting Gucci. She is from Dadar, her parents are drug peddlers, and in order to get rid of her parents, she get married to Vinod (Sharib Hashmi), and she is just interested in money and favours, She is crass, she is tacky to the core, and she tries her level best to make Radhika’s (Shruthi) life miserable.”
The series features Neha Sharma, Amrutha Khanvilkar, Purab Kohli, Shruti Seth, Sharib Hashmi, Faisal Rashid, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Smaran Sahu, Zara Khan, Pravin Manjarekar, Kenneth Desai, Chahat Vig, Hardika Sharma and Shivam Patil, Kushi Bharadwaj.
Further adding, Amruta shared the reason behind such a big ensemble cast. She said, “Everyone has secrets in the series, and the reason we have such a huge ensemble cast is because we want everybody who watched this series to resonate with every character. In this series, every character is relatable, you might think she sounds like my wife, or my friend or my aunty”
36 Days, a mystery thriller series produced by Applause Entertainment and BBC Studios, starts streaming from 12th July 2024.
