Prolific filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is all praises for Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh, says the actor and singer blew him away with his performance as Amar Singh Chamkila and he is just getting started. 
 
The way Diljit has performed, in a land where everyone is scared to look at him because he is a huge star, and I am talking about small town Punjab. When he was acting as Chamkila, I didn’t see Diljit anywhere, infact people also believed that it is Chamkila, who is acting and singing. And I can say with all certainty, Diljit himself didn’t know who he was, except Chamkila. He believe that he is Chamkila, because of him, we also forget about Diljit and saw only Chamkila, and I am telling you, it’s one of the most difficult thing to do, and one someone does something like that it makes it memorable and that is why we do what we do. 
 
"Diljit has already achieved so much, but I can guarantee this, this is just his beginning. Wherever Diljit goes, I will be with him. I am very happy this freshness came into my life by doing this film” added Imtiaz.
 
After hearing this, Diljit Dosanjh, the man of many talents and superb energy, broke down on stage. 
 
The film is produced by Mohit Choudhary, Select Media Holdings LLP, Saregama, and Window Seat Films. The music of the film is on Saregama, composed by A R Rahman. 
 
Amar Singh Chamkila premieres April 12, exclusively on Netflix.
