The makers of Kalki 2898AD kick-starts the countdown to release date by introducing the city of Shambala and Complex, where the battle is set.

The epic sci-fi is written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Inspired by Hindu scriptures, the film is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2898 AD. The film features Prabhas in the lead role with an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Brahmanandam in prominent roles.
Produced by C. Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, it was shot primarily in Telugu with some scenes re-shot in Hindi. Kalki is one of the most expensive Indian films. Its music is scored by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic, production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
It is scheduled for a theatrical release worldwide on 27 June 2024 in IMAX, 3D, and other film formats.
