Sharing the poster of the film on his social media profile, Big B captioned his post, “T 4992 - So proud that Film Heritage Foundation will be at the Cannes Film Festival for the third year in a row with another world premiere of a remarkable restoration - Shyam Benegal's film "Manthan" that had compelling performances from an exceptional cast including Smita Patil.  Just amazing the work that Film Heritage Foundation does to preserve, restore and showcase the best of India's film heritage to the world. @shividungarpur @FHF_Official”

"Manthan," which means 'churning' in English, is a powerful film that delves into the socio-economic issues faced by farmers and the challenges of cooperative dairy farming in India. Released in 1976, the film was a ground-breaking collaboration between director Shyam Benegal, writer Vijay Tendulkar, and producer Dr. Verghese Kurien, who was instrumental in the White Revolution of India.
