Bollywood power couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol are set to reunite on the big screen — and this time, it’s to bring a spine-chilling mythological-horror film titled Maa to life. Ajay took to his social media profile today to share a gripping motion poster for the film, sending fans into a frenzy of anticipation.

With bold visuals and an ominous sound design, the motion poster hints at a tale that dives deep into the eternal battle between darkness and divinity. Ajay’s caption reads: “Rakshak. Bhakshak. MAA. The protector. The destroyer. Trailer out in 4 days.”

He tagged the powerhouse team behind the film, including Kajol, Jio Studios, ADFFilms, T-Series, Vishal Furia, Saiwyn Quadras, and Danish Devgn.

Slated for a theatrical release on June 27, 2025, Maa will be released in four languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali, signaling a pan-India appeal. The film marks a high-profile reunion between Devgn and Jio Studios after their successful horror-thriller Shaitaan, which itself was an adaptation of a Gujarati film and turned into a surprise box-office winner earlier this year.

Directed by Vishal Furia, who has earned a solid reputation in the horror genre with films like Lapachhapi and Chhorii, and written by Saiwyn Quadras, the writer behind critically acclaimed films Neerja and Mary Kom, Maa promises to mix myth with menace. The story is said to explore the duality of the divine feminine — a protector when worshipped, and a destroyer when wronged.

Alongside Kajol in a power-packed lead role, the film features Ronit Bose Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma in significant roles. Though details about their characters remain under wraps, the ensemble hints at a character-driven narrative steeped in emotion, mythology, and suspense.

Backed by a strong production team including Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kumar Mangat Pathak, Maa appears to be more than just a typical horror flick — it’s shaping up to be a mythological experience laced with dread and drama, rooted in Indian tradition but told with a modern cinematic lens.

With just four days to go for the trailer drop, the buzz has officially begun. And with Kajol stepping into a genre she rarely explores, Maa may just be one of the most anticipated horror films of the year.
