Music composer Javed-Mohsin, who has composed a peppy dance track titled ‘Teri Bhabhi’ for the forthcoming film ‘Coolie No. 1’, is thrilled with audience response to their latest composition. The composer duo added saying that they took 25 days to complete the recording of the song and they have used a lot of live instruments, rhythm percussions and chorus to make it larger than life.
Javed-Mohsin was interacting with the media to promote ‘Teri Bhabhi’ song on Thursday in Mumbai.
‘Teri Bhabhi’ has garnered over 15.4 million views within a few hours of its release and it is currently trending at number two spot on YouTube. Interestingly, this is the only original song composed for the remake.
Talking about audience response to the song, Javed-Mohsin said, “When David (Dhawan) sir briefed us for the song, he wanted a typical massy and a very catchy number. When we made him hear the song, he was blown away and asked us to record it right away. We have used a lot of live instruments, rhythm percussions and chorus to make it larger than life for which we went to Chennai.”
He added, “I think the entire team who have been involved in making of this song be it Varun (Dhawan), Sara (Sara Ali Khan) choreographer Ganesh Acharya and singers by Dev Negi and Neha Kakkar have done really commendable job. It took us 25 days to compose it. We are really glad that people are loving the song and we are getting crazy response for it.”
Javed-Mohsin has earlier composed music for ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari’ and other songs such as ‘Ding Dang’ from ‘Munna Michael’ and ‘Pal’ from ‘Jalebi’.
‘Teri Bhabhi’ shows lead actor Varun Dhawan as coolie Raju, crazy in love with a rich man’s daughter, played by Sara Ali Khan.
The video shows Raju and his coolie friends take over a railway station, as they celebrate Raju falling head over heels in love. The colourful song shows Raju and hundreds others dancing as he clutches the girl’s photograph to his heart. Soon, dozens of her large cutouts show up on train roofs and she even appears in his imagination, dancing with him in a beautiful lehenga.
‘Coolie No. 1’ is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani. It is a remake of the 1995 film of the same name which itself is a remake of the 1993 Tamil film ‘Chinna Mapillai’.
It also stars Paresh Rawal, Jaaved Jaaferi, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and Sahil Vaid in key roles.
‘Coolie No. 1’ is scheduled to release on December 25 during Christmas on Amazon Prime Video.
