Verdict : One Time Watch
You wake up and realise that it’s going be the last day of your life. You look back at it and regret the moments you missed in search of a dream. The idea of getting a look at future and returning time to remedy the present has been tried several times by Hollywood. It has not, however, been explored in contemporary Hindi commercial films so when Delhi boy Jai Varma (Sidharth Malhotra) wakes up one day after a fight with his fiancée Diya Kapoor (Katrina Kaif) to find himself fast forwarded in time and place to their honeymoon in Thailand, it is natural to expect an unusual film.
Jai (Sidharth Malhotra) is an expert who needs to become wildly successful in the realm of science. His research papers are acknowledged at different schools all through the world and he is persistently sitting strong for a call from the Cambridge University, his dream school. Yet, before that he needs to get hitched to Diya (Katrina Kaif), a young lady attached to her family and India.
It's a conflict of thinkings. While Jai is worried about his own particular vocation, Diya is for the society and how our joy relies on upon people around us.
There is no time machine, yet time travel has been utilized as the account strategy. Our teacher continues doing a reversal and forward in time and that doesn't prevent him from shaking a leg or getting a charge out of intriguing regions. To put it plainly, Nitya Mehra ensures you don't miss any of the typical Bollywood entertainment.
Baar Baar Dekho is not Run Lola Run or Back To The Future or even Vantage Point. It's a usual "masala" performer that needs to re-build up the feelings that Karan Johar and his films have done before.
Malhotra has confined himself from going over the edge, and that works colossally for the film. He is relatable, amiable and certain. His chemistry with Kaif, however, doesn’t take off as the latter drastically fails to do the emotional bits. She looks ravishing in the songs, but that’s probably not enough.
The strong supporting cast includes the ever-reliable Sarika as Jai’s mother and Ram Kapoor as Diya’s father. Their characters get the same cursory treatment accorded to Diya in the script, which gives them very little space to display their acting chops.
Overall, certainly a good attempt but Baar Baar Dekho? We guess no...
